The Jay 2 Cushion is low maintenance cushion designed for an individual at high risk of skin breakdown. It consists of a firm, pre-contoured foam base with a gel tripad. This gel layer allows for up to 3″ of loading for superior skin protection. The foam base is rigid and therefore provides a great, firm base of support. It can be easily modified with secondary components to meet the unique seating needs of a particular individual.

At a height of 6.5cm, the Jay 2 is thicker than the Jay X2 (5.7cm) but thinner than the Jay Deep Contour (11.4cm). It provides a good height for an individual needing a mid profile cushion that provides adequate skin protection.

Contoured Foam Base

This foam base is constructed from closed cell foam, making it a rigid structure. The rigidity of the base allows for secondary modifications to be made to the Jay 2 Cushion, so that a variety of postural needs can be accommodate. The contoured base provides better positioning of the lower extremities and pelvic control. Enhancing comfort and positioning further for the individual.

Gel Fluid Tripad

This gel fluid tripad is found on top of the foam base. It consists of three components; large gel pad for the back of the cushion and two separate gel pads for each leg. The gel tripad conforms to each individual’s shape, adjusts to sitting positions and ensures proper fluid placement beneath bony prominences. This protects the skin from breakdown and the development of pressure sores. It requires no maintenance and can be cleaned easily.

Air-vented, Stretch Cushion Cover

The Jay 2 Cushion Cover as a two-way stretch. This allows for proper immersion and prevents an increase in pressure which can result from surface tension. The air-vented surface promotes airflow and dissipates heat and moisture. This keeps the surface of the cushion and the individual clean and dry. Preventing skin breakdown from a damp surface.
